This page is for deleting your Everi-Circle account and the data attached to it. The fastest way is inside the app; if you cannot get into the app, use the email request at the bottom of this page.
Deletion is permanent. There is no grace period and no way to undo it once it starts.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app
This is immediate and needs nothing from us.
- Open Everi-Circle and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to the Profile tab, then tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first — that check exists so nobody else can delete your account for you.
Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out. The rest of your data is removed by our servers straight afterwards.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it
Use this if you have lost your device, cannot sign in, or have already removed the app. Send the request from the email address on your Everi-Circle account — that is how we confirm the account is yours before we delete anything.
Email a deletion requestIf that button does not open your mail app, send a message to privacy@evericircle.com with the subject "Account deletion request — Everi-Circle" and this in the body:
I am requesting deletion of my Everi-Circle account and all associated data. Account email: Display name in the app: Approx. sign-up date (if known): I confirm I am sending this from the email address registered to the account, and I understand deletion is permanent.
We acknowledge every request within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually far sooner. If we cannot match your email to an account, we will write back and ask — we will not delete an account we cannot verify.
What gets deleted
All of the following is deleted, not hidden and not merely flagged:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in / login | Deleted from our authentication system. You can no longer sign in, and the email is released |
| Your profile — name, email, bio, profile photo | Deleted, including every stored size of the photo |
| Your posts, comments and reactions | Your authorship is removed: your name and photo on them are replaced with "Deleted user" and no longer point to you |
| Your photos and videos | Deleted from our file storage |
| Your moments, their media and the consent records attached to them | Deleted |
| Your circle memberships and roles | Deleted. You are removed from every circle you were in |
| Your event RSVPs, list items and assignments | Your name and photo on them are replaced with "Deleted user" |
| Your blocked-users list | Deleted |
| Your saved payment handles (bank last-4, OPay / PalmPay / Cash App / Venmo) | Deleted, along with the encrypted records holding them |
| Your device push tokens and notification settings | Deleted. Notifications stop immediately |
| App settings and preferences | Deleted |
| Product event records keyed to your account ID | Deleted |
| Crash reports held by our error-reporting provider (Sentry) | Contain your account ID only, never your email or content; they expire automatically within 90 days. Ask us and we will delete them sooner |
Direct messages you sent are removed from your side. A copy may remain in the other person's conversation, because it is also their message — the same as a text message you have already sent. Your name on it becomes "Deleted user".
What we keep, and for how long
Two things survive account deletion, because the law requires it. Neither is used to contact you, market to you, or rebuild your profile.
| What we keep | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Money records — that a payment toward a shared cost was recorded, the amount, the date, and the account ID it belonged to. Not your name, email or payment handle | 7 years from the date of the record | Financial and tax record-keeping obligations. Permitted by NDPA s.34 and GDPR Art. 17(3)(b), which both allow retention where a legal obligation applies |
| Your acceptance of our Terms and Privacy Policy — which version, and when | 7 years | Proof of the agreement between us, and of the consent we relied on |
| Encrypted backups containing data already deleted from the live system | Up to 30 days, then they roll off automatically | Disaster recovery. Backups are not searched or used except to restore the service after a failure |
| A minimal record that this account was deleted, and when | Kept as an audit entry | So we can prove to you or to a regulator that your request was carried out |
How long deletion takes
| Step | When |
|---|---|
| Sign-in disabled, account closed (in-app deletion) | Immediately |
| Acknowledgement of an emailed request | Within 2 business days |
| Profile, content, media, memberships and tokens removed from live systems | Usually minutes; guaranteed within 30 days |
| Copies removed from encrypted backups | Within 30 days of the deletion |
| Money records and agreement records removed | 7 years after the record was created |
Thirty days is the outer limit set by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the GDPR. If anything is going to take the full window, we will tell you why before the 30 days are up.
Before you delete — a few things to know
- If you are the only organiser of a circle, hand the circle over to another member first, or it will be left without an organiser and its members will lose the ability to manage it.
- Settle up first. Deleting your account does not cancel money you owe or are owed. Those transfers happen outside Everi-Circle, between you and the other person, and we cannot reverse or recover them.
- Save anything you want to keep. Photos and posts are gone once deletion runs. If you want a copy of your data first, email privacy@evericircle.com and ask for an export before you delete.
- Deleting the app is not deleting your account. Removing Everi-Circle from your phone leaves the account intact. Use one of the two options above.
- You can come back — but as a new account. Nothing from the old one is restored.
Other privacy requests
Deletion is one of several rights you have. You can also ask for a copy of your data, correct it, restrict how we use it, or object to a use. Write to privacy@evericircle.com and say which one you want. The full list is in the Privacy Policy, section 8.
If you are in Nigeria and you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng. In the EEA or UK, complain to your national data protection authority.
